A graduate of McGill University, Dr. Chris MacKinnon is a practicing psychologist and writer. His work largely focuses on how people can respond constructively to major loss and life transitions. Presently director of a private clinic in Montreal, he previously worked in Palliative Care at the McGill University Health Center and was on the faculty of both McGill’s Department of Oncology and the Portland Institute for Loss and Transition. In collaboration with Palliative Care McGill, he pioneered a unique counselling skills program for fellow-physicians that was recognized as a Leading Practice Innovation by the College of Family Physicians. He is presently a Psychosocial Specialist with the Canadian Virtual Hospice (CVH) and serves on the advisory board for the Montreal Institute for Palliative Care. Dr. Tina Timm is an Associate Professor in the School of Social Work at Michigan State University where she teaches graduate students specializing in clinical social work. She is a Clinical Fellow of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and licensed as both a marriage and family therapist and a clinical social worker. Her research focuses on couples and families with an emphasis on issues related to sexuality. She completed post-graduate training at Masters & Johnson Institute in both sex therapy and sexual trauma. She has been doing clinical work for over 28 years in a wide range of settings and is a frequent presenter on topics related to the integration of sex therapy into clinical practice, affair recovery, trauma informed treatment, and attachment.
Dr. Kimberly Fenn is a Professor of Psychology at Michigan State University, where she directs the Sleep and Learning Lab. Dr. Fenn studies the impact of sleep and sleep deprivation on memory, the effect of fitness on memory, and aspects of forensic memory, such as eyewitness memory and false confessions. She is a graduate of the University of Delaware (B.A.) and the University of Chicago M.A. and Ph.D.
